I plan on backpacking for a night very soon though. I'd like to just visit for a day hike first though. Bob, the camp host was always friendly and helpful. The current posts that I have read concern me enough to question the status of the site now. We were looking to go in the next couple of weeks and now I'm not so sure. Has anyone had a positive experience in the last 5-6 months?

Re: Devore Campground – Angeles National Forest

Thank much for these blogs. Life is strange for me these days and I seem to find some balance in nature. Reading your blogs has reminded how much I need to get back out there more. It's past midnite but I still plan to hike here tomorrow morning.

Re: Camping at Big Pine Creek Campground – Inyo, CA

to add to the Lon Chaney story - the cabin was built by Italian stone masons who immigrated to the valley. Sandy Flat used to be a great spot during the right time of year, but it sounds like it's gone completely to hell. Hobo was already a nightmare, but now it looks like the Southern Kern River is entirely a no-go. Sorry to hear your trip was such a disaster.

Re: Home Page

hah, that's why the Blog has gone dark for a couple years. I went camping for the first time at Mt. The blue pastic things they use to hold the goo in place when making an imprint of your teeth are standard shapes but come in different sizes and they can be very painful, but only for a few minutes, in my case after they where done I had both extremely painful areas in my mouth and some where almost numb, the pain where there for the entire day and numbness is still there, it's been three days now and I'm getting worried that they may have damage nerves or tissues. Anyway this isn't a problem for everyone but like you said if they don't fit it's a lot of pain or a different method... really hope the creators of InvisAlign will adress this issue so others won't have to feel this kind of pain... before InvisAlign i had mold taken for InmanAligner and it didn't hurt at all only felt that soft goo around my teeth, but my upper and lower front teeth are too close to eachother to use InmanAligner for the lower teeth only and using it on both upper and lower teeth is more expensive than InvisAlign... if I had known the amount of pain i had to go through I would just stick to my slighty misaligned lower front teeth.

Re: Camping at Sandy Flat Campground – Sequoia National Forest, CA

Just got back from camping here and it was pretty terrible. The sites wwere extremely crowded with 2-3 carloads of people per site. Babies crying at all hours, people blaring country music all day. It's like a combination of living in an apartment without any walls and a refuge camp. I kept waiting for NATO to drop some supplies, but they never came. The site could be awesome, but there were just way too many people (obnoxious people that is). We drove up to HOBO camp and it too was filled to capacity. If you are looking to get away from the crowds i would have to say keep looking. We were here in August, it was over 100oF so maybe that made people want to just come hang by the river, but for me, def not worth the 3hr drive to camp.

Re: Camping at Boulder Basin Campground – San Jacinto, CA

Hi Tim - do you remember what campsite number this was? I'm 13 and I need braces, but I want invisalign. My question is: Do they make molds to fit for your teeth specifically, or are the molds already made, and if none fit you, too bad? If you could reply, that'd be great. Thanks! :)

Re: Does Invisalign Really Work?

Update on the invisalign?

Re: Vasquez Rocks County Park – Agua Dulce, CA

Where'd you get your straw hat?

Re: What Does it Mean to be “Religious”?

Interesting thoughts...what is truth?
